Abstract Vineyard Landscape in Gouache

I imagine our vineyards looking like this as the sun sets. A countless array of shadows and light captured within a pink-violet glow.
This is what I see as I look out my window.

Likely too, a little bit of synesthesia plays a part in the riotous color that isn’t actually out there at the end of a hot dry summer in Sonoma County, California.

Always great to hear from you ♥ Drizzle and fog?

Actually some drizzle and fog sound pretty good. We’ve had no rain and it’s quite dry here. The sky is finally blue again and that’s good enough for me.🌻

I read about the terrible fires in Sonoma – hope you are doing OK. Stay safe.

Yes the fires were, once again, awful. A terrible repeat of 2017 but without the evacuation! Thankfully this one was further north but not so far as not to be affected by terrible air quality, smoke and ash. Not to mention we had no power for a week! It’s a long story but when you live out like we do, if your power is cut, you lose water, light, heat – the basics of life! It was difficult and I’m actually considering it may be time to find another place to live. It makes me sad but one must be realistic. If I were here alone, I couldn’t do it during either these long power outages or the fires or fear of fires. I apologize-I need to go to bed but I’m still having anxiety from the experience. Thank you so much for asking. 💙 Much love to you xo

Glad you are OK! I know about losing power too – it happens every other winter when heavy snow knocks out the connection lines. We have a fire place inside and an extra generator to help. But it gets VERY cold if we have no connection for a week. And no shower… Love ♥

I don’t know where my comment went? I hope you are well, dear, reading about the wildfires in Sonoma is terrifying.
