Grape Picking Begins

We are getting too old for this. Someday it will dawn on us.
We ARE getting too old for this!

Of course…
we will never quit.

If a real live buyer with wads of cash came along, maybe, but I cannot see it.

Money isn’t what this is about. We haven’t been ranchers for 4 decades and several generations before us because it’s a great way to get rich. “Land rich, money poor” is a truism.

Then there’s a morning that looks like this…..

Or fruit that tastes this luscious. You can almost taste it thru your screen.

In our life there is a single color, as on an artist’s palette, which
provides the meaning of life and art.

It is the color of love.

The color of love. I like that. It’s how I feel when I write, that I am bathing in THAT color.

Thanks dear heart. That’s lovely to hear…. It is how I feel about the land I steward.

Your land is so beautiful in every season I can understand just how impossible it would be to leave. I do wish you had someone who loved it as much, someone who could be lending a hand and learning the ropes against the day.
Take good care of yourself, dear heart, and of those you love.

ps: That painting at the top is one I don’t recall having seen before. It’s very lovely.

Ah, my dear, i fear that type of person no longer exists, likely due to financial reasons. We had a wish to see one of our kids come in and secretly i still hope one will. However it will not support two households so we almost have to die first! Naturally that hasn’t happened yet. In truth I see one to leave it to. Strange but there’s such love of the land and so natural at stewardship. We will have to see. No hesitation on my part in changing a few lines of legalese.

This is a newer tiny watercolor i did. I like her too. 🙂

Much love to you… been offline for a long time but trying to get back again. Lots of health issues to deal with. Aw, age-you gotta love it otherwise, you’re screwed Xxx
