There are obvious advantages to endless days of rain – like an end to a long drought in California – and wildflowers starting to pop up in the 70 degree weather.

And the vineyards wake up.
To us, it’s always too soon for a much needed break to come to an end… again!
Especially when the wet weather has kept us from getting any garden chores started! STARTED… how about finished? I think not… At least not for now.

I really need a gardener because as I get older and farmer also goes in the same direction, well, we’re starting to potter around and never get nearly enough accomplished.

Well, we did get a few of the end of season blackberries because farmer loves them in anything with baked dough in it… of course!

This is a photo of a vineyard that is halfway thru pruning. I’ve gotten tired of making wreaths with all the cuttings, with several laying around “drying” in the rain!

  1. Oh how I wish I could come and work the vines!

It’s a huge job. We just get in the way of the crew! But thanks for the offer! ❤😊

Seeing your photographs of the beauteous spring that’s dawning on your land is balm for my eyes and heart. Right now it’s 1F outside, a couple of inches of new snow on the ground and up to 2 feet more expected Monday! Oh well, I shouldn’t complain as we’ve had a fairly snow free winter up until now and many days when it was, if not warm, then at least reasonably mildish for the time of year. We’ve had a ton of rain as well.

That first picture is quite literally stunning. Very fine color coordinating there.
I still have the rose petals you sent.

      Good eve, my dear,
I’m glad you aren’t buried in white stuff yet. I think it’s on it’s way but maybe it won’t be as bad. Wow, too cold! Makes these bones hurt just thinking about it. I shouldn’t complain we had 30″ of rain so far. Feb. is usually a wet month so maybe more. I’m tired of wanted to get out and clean things up with the raining and high winds, things are a real mess.

i’ll collect some more petals for us this year. It’s time for a little refreshing so get ready. Maybe i’ll get a big crop with all the rain! xoxox
