Random Photo Luckiness

It’s probably not going to surprise anyone but most, if not all, my photos are of my home. We are on a very old ranch, originating with General Vallejo, then one other family then the farmer’s family. The original home, that finally had to be destroyed because it was dangerous, left behind old garden plants that have naturalized over the century since they were planted.

Vineyard + Pastures

Vineyard + Pastures

The vineyard is both Pinot Noir and Chardonnay wine grapes, a fairly common duo in vineyards here in Sonoma Coast AVA. We are not that close to the ocean and have a very hot Mediterranean climate, not remotely coastal. Since the AVA compromises something like 500,000 acres–that’s really large–it is many different climate zones all in one. We are hoping that where we grow our vineyards is soon to become Petaluma Gap AVA.
That definitely would be good news!

A seeker, painter, photographer, artist, dabbler, writer and fragrant rose lover, my mind a magic space long before I tread my rocky lane. Always a healing place if willing to turn over stones.  Carry eagle feathers that fall in my path.

i am.  i do. i always will.

Hi Susan, Thanks so much. I’m having trouble with my subscription sign up so if it works out for you, can you let me know if it all looked ok from your end?

  2. Oops, forgot to comment earlier but am commenting now. Not sure subscribing worked as I’ve had no notification. x

Hi Sarah…. Yes, I think I’ve done the thing for subscribing and/or commenting wrong somehow. Just took too long a break to sit in the sun and am now back trying to get this right….if there is such a thing! Doubtful! 🙂

Did you ever get a confirm? I tried and didn’t… at least not yet but shouldn’t take hours! xo

Good luck with this new adventure!
Looking forward to all you have to share with us!

Hi Sheelagh and thank you. I’m having such a blast today trying to figure out yet another little glitch. I’m happy you stopped in! xo

Love your new site Linda, looks great!!! Best wishes my friend ~

    1. ĽAdelaide says:

Lovely of you to come see, Mary. I think I’m going to find this a lot better. I’ve certainly learned about what I know NOthing about!!! 😀

      1. Mary says:

I’m real curious Linda about your new site and how well it works for selling your beautiful art. Hope you had a good harvest this year ~ my best to you for a wonderful Autumn season.

          Hi Mary,
Thanks for stopping in this morning. I had a heck of a time trying to figure out how you ended up leaving a comment on that page. I was working on this thing today and maybe I inadvertently sealed myself off from it because I was turning off comment links. Haha, it’s a steep learning curve, Mary, so I don’t even know if I will be answering your question for awhile yet. I have to hire the shopping cart done for me because I simply don’t have the skills. AND I’m so burned out on this AND painting “small”, something new for me.

Over the years I’ve had many requests not only for paintings and prints of my photography, I hope so. I have been on artspan but they have such a steep markup for customers, I’m not doing it next year. So we’ll see. I like not being on WP. com anymore tho because I didn’t like the constant needs for buying plans AND always changing things-like my reader so I miss people’s posts- I just decided to do it. So I will let you know. And fingers crossed. We could use another income, albeit small, so hoping my little paintings will fly out the door. I’m keeping all my prices on originals under $50 so don’t much see why not…. the eternal optimist. 🙂

have a lovely week, Mary. I’ll keep you updated in case you’re thinking of doing something similar. xx

Sounds like you have your hands full – stay in touch Linda. Making art is so freeing, the marketing end though – not so much. I’ve really hesitated in getting into the marketing aspect and for many of the reasons you state. Take care and hope your week goes well.

I hear you, Mary. I’ve been in and out of selling art for many years. I realized when I was in my 40’s that my creativity didn’t mix with producing income. However farming being what it is, we’ve had a rough few years. I’m not really skilled at anything, live far from town and frankly, have been independent from that for too long to consider it now. They’d look at me and think I’d escaped the old folks home. 😉

I have been messing w/ websites for a decade so, up to now, kind of hard at first but the template was partially in SWEDISH! But US gov. knows who has websites and if money’s involved, wants to know what, why, who, etc. I simply don’t have energy to jump thru their hoops. I’ve had a couple of difficult years with health challenges so know when to say when and am saying when over shopping-cart-enabled site. I know someone and think in the end, it will be well worth a few hundred dollars. Wish me luck!

  5. Have fun and best of luck! 💚

Hello dear… apologies I’ve not been around. I saw you have a new little family member. I’m sorry as I know how painful it is to lose our beloved family members, of which pets certainly are. Be well and enjoy him! xx

    1. L'Adelaide says:

Hey Debi… Better late than never to thank you for your kind comment about the new site. It was harder than I thought it would be, I’ll admit. But I’m really happy having my own site that only I’m in charge of! I’ve not been online at all for awhile but hope to get back soon. Be well, my friend!❤

      1. debiriley says:

my pleasure L Adelaide! I’m so happy for you, and admire your tech skills to do it too! 🙂 cheers, Debi
