We are grumbling that our cooler nights have slowed the ripening in our chardonnay. I won’t bore you with the whole sugar/acid/brix requirements.
Nobody likes a sour chardonnay.
Sometimes we get cool weather before our Indian summer, when temperatures climb beyond reasonability!!
I hate this time of year because I fret over dry, fire-ripened hills and warm, nightly winds.
- grapes needing sulphur spray for weeks and my allergies to sulphur.
- ever-present heat,
- oft dwindling bank accounts
Life is short.
Find what you love and do it!
We love where we live, built our home here and likely aren’t leaving anytime soon. And farming has it’s up side. Perhaps, when I recall it, I’ll share!
You cannot beat the view out most every window!
